World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms
We are now a registered host farm.
The WWOOF scheme links people interested in getting out and active on farms or smallholdings with an organic focus, with farms and smallholdings who could use some support and welcome volunteers.
The host provides accommodation and food in exchange for work. The finer points of what's offered and exchanged is down to negotiation between the two parties. Particularly if you're new to the idea there's a nice series of articles here about it.
At Vowley Farm we could use help with the following projects:
- Barn clearing
- Laying of concrete floors
- Rainwater recycling
- Harnessing wind and solar energy
- Willow and reed bed construction
- General farm work
- Laying hedges
- Digging ditches
- Fencing
- Building chicken houses
- Tending the herb bed
- Managing the vegetable garden
- Welding gates and partitions
- Tractor & machinery maintenance
